I really enjoyed reading this post. You are a great writer! I like the creative ways you “escape’ paradise, and can’t wait to see where you actually go to escape for “real”.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it—sometimes escaping paradise takes a little imagination… and a lot of snacks and the beach 😂. The "real" escape is coming 👀

I always say I was an island gyal in my former life. The way my heart comes alive and joy fills my bones when I'm on one feels like confirmation. I hope to spend extended time in the Caribbean at some point in my life, and I wonder if I'd have the same sentiments.. or not, since I didn't grow up there.

Honestly, I think I’m best suited for Caribbean living; sunshine, sea breeze, and all. I lived in the cold for a few years and absolutely hated it. Haven’t set foot anywhere during winter since, and I plan to keep it that way. That said, I still believe feeling claustrophobic in your own life can happen to anyone, anywhere, even when things look beautiful and comfortable on the outside. We all hit that “ugh, this again?” wall sometimes. Antigua is stunning, no doubt, but stepping away now and then, even briefly, helps me reset and stay inspired. Switching it up is necessary. Sanity first, always.
